Room 8 Class Newsletter
Term 3: Week 5 17.8.14
Dear
Parents and Caregivers
A
big congratulations to Lundon who placed third equal in the Year 0 Poetry
Competition. Your performance was outstanding and Room 8 are very proud of you.
We
look forward to welcoming Colson and Onkar to our class this week. Our
wee class is steadily growing. I am very proud of the way the children welcome
our new class members so warmly and are so keen to show them the ropes!
Thank
you to those of you who are incorporating the High Frequency Sight Word cards
in your child’s home learning. The children are recognising these words with
improved accuracy and speed and this knowledge will begin flowing through into
their reading and writing. Our newer children will be ready to be issued with these in a week
or so.
Thank
you to those families who attended SEA meetings with me this past week. I look
forward to meeting with the remaining families over the next couple of weeks. I
will again put up a timetable on the class noticebaord for you to schedule a
meeting time. Please let me know if none of the times available work for you
and I will endeavour to make alternative arrangements.
This week’s events include theTravelling
Library Road show on Wednesday and The Year 4 Bake Sale on Thursday. The
children may like to bring a few gold coins to school on Thursday should they
wish to buy something from the bake sale. A small, named snaplock bag is an
ideal way for them to keep track of their money.
If you haven’t done so lately,
please check out our class blog. There are some wonderful photos of the
children which I hope give you a glimpse of the fun we have in Room 8 and Team
Star. The address is: www.room82015stalbans.blogspot.co.nz
Alternatively, you can access the blog via the Room 8 link
on the homepage of our school website.
Have
a great week.
Kind
regards
Cara
Wallace
